What is your style of photography?
I would say my stye is editorial and candid. I have a photo-journalistic approach. Basically what that means is that the photos are casual, or natural. I lightly direct. You will not be asked to pose in stiff or uncomfortable positions.
How do I book a photo session or wedding?
You can contact me by telephone, email, or by completing the online contact form. If you are inquiring about a wedding, please provide me with your wedding date, what type of coverage you are interested in and the best number to reach you. I will get back to you within 24 hours.
Will you be the person photographing our wedding?
Yes. Absolutely. Always. You hired me for a reason, and for that I am honored.
Do you have liability insurance?
YES! Many wedding venues will require a certificate of insurance from a photographer before allowing them to shoot on the premises. Professional liability insurance not only covers the photographer should an accident occur due to their actions or equipment, it helps reduce both your and the venue’s liability as well.
What can I expect during my session?
You can expect to have fun! My sessions are relaxed. I meet my clients at the location(s) of their choice. I typically shoot for up to one hour. I don’t keep track of time while I am photographing. I stay until I have the photographs that tell the story of the personalities present.
What is included in my session fee?
An initial consultation via phone, email, or in person; An in-person meeting to show you the photos and place your initial order. A private gallery posted online to share with family and friends thereafter; The session fee also pays for the photographer’s time and talent during the photo shoot and post production work.
When is payment due?
To reserve a wedding date, a signed contract and 30% deposit is required. For all other sessions, a $100 deposit is due at time of booking to secure your appointment. (This non-refundable deposit may be applied toward future bookings should you need to cancel your session for any reason.) The remaining balance is due on the day of your session.
Do you offer gift certificates?
Absolutely! Gift certificates are always available and make excellent gifts for any occasion. They are available in denominations of $50 or greater. If you want to see what they look like, click here.
Where will my session take place?
You choose the location, whether it be at the beach, park, your home or in your backyard. I’d be happy to offer suggestions.
How many images will you take during my session?
There is no set number of images that I take. I focus on the quality of photos, not the quantity. Most weddings I photograph average around 400-600 images that will be edited and available to you.
How many sessions do you book in given day?
I offer one morning appointment and one afternoon appointment for photo sessions. I never double book. Your time is valuable to me. If you commission me for a wedding, I do not and will not book any events on the same date as your event. This gives me proper time to clean, charge and prepare my equipment and myself for your special day.
What should we wear?
This is one of the first questions that comes up. It depends on the style of photographs you are looking to achieve and the location. As a general rule, it is best to avoid busy patterns and clothing with logos. To help you with the process, I’ve created a guide that will assist you with what to wear. Once you book your appointment we can discuss clothing options in more detail.
When will my images be available for viewing?
A preview post will be up on my blog typically within 48 hours after the session has taken place. All images from portrait sessions will be available within 10 business days. Full delivery of image galleries can be expected within six to eight weeks for weddings. For your privacy, all galleries are password protected. However, you should feel free to share your password with family and friends so they can enjoy the photos, too.
Can I use images on Facebook or MySpace?
All images are copyrighted, which means that although the pictures are of you, you do not own the rights to them. Upon request you can receive a low resolution, watermarked file of each image that you purchase for use on Facebook or MySpace.
How long will my gallery be displayed online?
Your images will be available for online viewing for 4 days. All images are archived in a database for one year should you need to place future orders.
What products do you offer?
I offer a variety of custom designed products. In addition to prints (available in multiple finishes), albums, canvases, standouts, press printed cards, etc. are available.
How do I place an order?
Once your images are ready for viewing, I will schedule an in-person meeting to show you the photos and place your initial order.
